PRO LAWN PROGRAM

THE PROGRAM BELOW IS A STEP BY STEP APPROACH TO A HEALTHY LAWN.

  1. Spring Feeding ... March/April 12-0-24 slow release fertilizer with Dimension
Applied between March/April this application will gently wake up your lawn without causing excessive top growth, which can cause disease and reduced drought tolerance. For crabgrass control, Dimension is the product of choice for its long lasting high percentage control of crabgrass, as well as many other annual weeds.

  2. Weed & Feed ... May/June 20-5-20 50% slow release fertilizer plus Confront
Applied in May/June this application will provide an immediate source of nitrogen that will feed your lawn gently for up to 16 weeks. The liquid Confront gives us the greatest advantage in controlling a broad spectrum of broad leaf weeds - Clover, Dandelion, chickweed.

  3. Summer Application ... June/July/August 0-0-30 summer fertilizer plus Iron
Applied in the Summer, this application will provide an immediate source of potassium which enables the plant to develop better drought tolerance, as well as quicker recovery from stress and drought damage. It is important to know that this product does not predispose the grass plant to disease or drought damage. The Iron will give the turf a quick green up without pushing new growth.

  4. Insect Control Application ... June/July Merit or Mach 2 slow release fertilizer
Applied in mid summer, this application provides adequate control to all root chewing insects. This will include grubs, chinch bugs, sod webworm, army beetle and many others. Also included in this application will be iron and nitrogen fertilizer to help keep lawn green without pushing growth.

  5. Summer Stress Recovery ... September/October 28-3-10 slow release fertilizer
Applied in the Late Summer/Early Fall, this application provides one pound of available nitrogen to help the plant grow and repair itself of any summer damage. This application, in conjunction with rain, will keep the grass green and lush through the early fall.

Fall is the best time for seeding. Consider core Aeration to loosen heavy compacted soils. Consider core aeration and overseeding to introduce new hardier varieties of turf to your existing lawn. Consider core aeration plus slice seeding to repair badly damaged areas of the lawn.

  6. Winterizer ... November/December 28-3-10 slow release fertilizer
The final application is extremely important to the overall health of your lawn. The grass has the food necessary to make and store energy in the root system and allow extensive growth and recovery until the soil is frozen. It will also enable your lawn to slowly wake up without extensive top growth in the Spring.

  7. Lime .... Late Fall/Winter/Anytime High Calcitic Pelletized Lime
Lime applications can be applied at any time of the year. Lime provides many benefits to the soil and grass plant. Liming once a year keeps the soil PH between 6.5-7.0 the ideal ph for growing turfgrass. Liming improves nutrient availability from the fertilizer, adds essential calcium, and activates beneficial soil micro-organisms, as well as deterring broadleaf weeds.
